Honoring Marie Curie
The name Marie Curie may ring a bell, for she is the most well-known female scientist of all time. Marie was the first woman to receive the Nobel Prize in physics, which she won in 1903 for her outstanding work with radioactivity. This award shows to us how intelligent and important of a person Marie was during her life, and still to today. Marie used the money she got from this reward to continue her research. Later in 1911, Marie won the Nob el Prize in chemistry for her work with radium and polonium. Her discoveries and explanations in these fields only begin to allow us to understand what a brilliant woman Marie was. She was the first ever scientist, male or female, to receive two Nobel Prizes, which definitely was an amazing accomplishment.
