The Life of marie curie
Marie Curie was born in Warsaw, Poland on November 7, 1867. Her mother and father were both teachers, which led to her excelling in school. At the age of 11, Marie's mother passed away of tuberculosis. As the youngest of five children, she took after her father in math and physics. She continued her education in Warsaw's "floating university", which were underground informal classes. These classes were kept a secret due to the fact the Warsaw University did not accept women. After college, Marie worked as a tutor and governess. She was introduced to a French pysicist named Pierre Curie, who later became Marie's husband and partner throughout her work. In 1891, Marie enrolled in Sorbonne in Paris to continued her education and work with physics. With the little amount of money she had, Marie did not always have food to fill her empty stomach. This caused her health to deteriorate, but luckily gained back some strength to stay alive. She completed her master's degree in 1893 and also earned a degree in mathematics in 1894. Overall, the life of Marie Curie surely was an interesting one!
